H.O.G. Pretoria celebrates a great year!

Chapter Organiser:

  • Chapter Social Event

H.O.G.® Pretoria’s year end function was held at a resort in Badplaas.  The weekend kicked off with a Friday night braai after a most pleasant ride to the venue.  Saturday some riders took to the road once again to enjoy the scenic beauty of the area while others went to the spa or swam or simply relaxed and enjoyed the company of fellow Pretoria members.  The evening’s theme, The Great Gatsby, was well enjoyed when looking at the way every one got dressed up.  Even the thunderstorm midway through the evening didn't dampen the spirits, the band got right back up and entertained all with excellent music from a rock era only Harley riders can understand!

Our Chapter Director, Tony Raffa, thanked each and every member for their participation and loyalty through 2018.  The trophy winners was announced and dancing continued.

Congratulations and thank you to our trophy winners who have shown outstanding commitment to the Chapter throughout the year

H.O.G. Pretoria's Year in Review

H.O.G. ® Pretoria had a hugely successful year under the directorship of Tony Raffa.  From the International Ladies Ride that was hosted by Pretoria to the well-attended Spring Rally in Gariep. Members are proud to be associated with our chapter.

INTERNATIONAL FEMALE RIDE

On 5 May 2018 Pretoria hosted the annual International Ladies Ride where close to 200 lady riders gathered to ride for Cancer awareness.  The route took them through Pretoria to the Sun Arena in Menlyn where a cheque was handed over to Cancervive.

Annamie le Grange, Ladies Of Harley® Officer from H.O.G. Pretoria Chapter being the Lady Bikers SA Convener Gauteng central, took the massive task on her shoulders, to combine IFRD 2018 for Pretoria with a charity ride for Cancervive, AND to combine the IFRD Events for H.O.G. Pretoria, Johannesburg, Clearwater and Goldrand Chapters, all into one massive Event.  Needless to say, that the Traffic Police had to assist with the pack of almost 200 bikes, this count on par with the 2017 attendance.

SPRING RALLY - Gariep

251 registered participants converge on the picturesque town of Gariep Dam for the annual Spring Rally hosted by HOG® Pretoria, South Africa.  Attendees came from far and wide, including Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Zululand.  Of course, no rally would be complete without doing something for charity, and who better to get the moola popping than a bunch of sexy ladies from the host chapter dancing for a good cause.  The ladies flaunted their dance moves to the tune of R 9800!

Saturday afternoon saw participants and spectators flock to the games area where skilled riders gathered to test their mettle in search of the coveted title of winners of the Harley Games Grand Finale.  The games concluded with the showcasing of pure bike-riding talent by the gents of HOG® Pretoria when they performed the five-bike figure 8 spectacular.

Activities concluded with the Chapter Director, Tony Raffa, handing out tokens of thanks and appreciation to the main organizer, Elsie Van Niekerk and her team, the sponsors as well as all the Chapter Officers who, through their time and devotion, ensured that the rally was a massive success.

WINTER TOURING RALLY - Riemland

Another unique rally was the Winter Touring Rally organised by Deon Ferreira.  Right in the middle of winter, 23 June 2018, the route took the riders from Pretoria to Parys, Heilbron, Betlehem and Fickbrg where the first overnight point was.  The Sunday they went to Clocolan, Senekal, Lindley and Fouriesburg.  Monday was back to Pretoria where the feedback was that it was such a well organised weekend, thoroughly enjoyed by all.

CHARITY RIDE

During a breakfast hosted by Eleos, a huge amount of R10,000 was donated by H.O.G® Pretoria , their chosen charity for 2018.
